Thomas Aquinas College
Solemnity of All Saints

Dear Friend,

Our Lord’s peace! I’m Fr. Greg Markey and I am delighted to be the founding chaplain of Thomas Aquinas College’s new campus in Northfield, Massachusetts.

After only two months of operation, the academic and spiritual life on campus has been beautifully established. Students are diving head-first into their studies, taking full advantage of the Socratic method for which the College is famous. My role as chaplain is to be the spiritual father to these students, supporting their academic pursuits with an active sacramental life. This means that I offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass twice a day, with Confession before and after Mass, and spiritual direction throughout the week. We also pray compline and Rosary each night, along with other devotions.

Despite the flourishing of the spiritual life on campus thus far, Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel still lacks many basic liturgical items. Some of these items simply fill important practical roles for the celebration of the sacraments, such as the linens used during Holy Mass. Others provide an ornamental beauty and dignity to the liturgy, such as the sacred vessels and vestments worn by the priest. All of these items are for the greater glory of God.

Thomas Aquinas College has a proven tradition of placing the sacred liturgy at the center of campus life. We would not have been able to do this without your generous support. Today, I invite you to help us maintain this tradition on our new campus.

I have compiled a list of the liturgical items we are lacking, along with the price of each. Would you be willing to support our liturgical life by providing the funding for one or more of these items?

Know that with your contribution you will play an important role in strengthening the spiritual lives of our students, which in turn will allow them to enter more fully into their academic pursuits. In addition, you will be remembered regularly in the prayers of the students and in my intentions when offering the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

All Souls’ Day provides a wonderful opportunity to sponsor items in memory of your loved ones. Their names can be engraved on many of the items, and will be listed in a book that will be permanently displayed in the vestibule of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel.

Over these past few months, it has been a pleasure to meet many alumni, parents, and friends of the College during their visits here to the rolling hills of New England. I look forward to meeting more of you in the future. Thank you in advance for your willingness to support Thomas Aquinas College on its new campus.

Sincerely in Christ,
